Peacefully nestled among the range of lofty mountains 'Lamagaon' is a small beautiful village that falls under Pul-Bijanbari Development block ,in the district of Darjeeling (West Bengal)  is at a distance of around 35- 40 Kilometers from Darjeeling town and approximately 12 Kilometer from Bijanbari.

This place is famous for its locally grown vegetable 'Iskus' which is one of the major cultivation of the valley.  Apart from Iskus cardamom is another important cultivation cultivated by the local farmers.

Sports Activity : Lamagaon is locally being praised for its annual sports activities mainly Football which is organised by  'Lamagaon Welfare Society' a local organisation  established in the year 2014. The society not only organised Football but also provides various social activities like free computer education,youth parliament programs and many other helpful works for better society.

If anyone is looking for a peaceful village trekking than this place is perfect destination for you to  rest out of all your busy schedules away from noisy streets to a peaceful environment close to nature and it also connects Tanglu and Sandakphu (the world famous trekking destination) via Samsu (Name of the Village) and Dhotria (Name of the Village).

Nowadays Lamagaon is attracting visitors from outside as there you can get to know local village life and for stay there is a beautiful home stay ' Lamagaon Homestay ' which provides a homely living , one can do bird watching , local trekking and enjoy local foods etc.

There are two local schools namely Mount Carmel Academy (Private School) and Lamagaon Primary School (Government School)

How to reach Lamagaon
There is local daily taxi service available from Darjeeling to Lamagaon at a rate of Rs. 120 per person or one can reserve a vehicles like tata spacio/ tata sumo approximately at Rs. 1800 - 2000. which are easily available from Darjeeling.
