For years, the Jobs label on this blog has carried recruitment notices alongside travel guides and Nepali poems — posts like the Sikkim Pollution Control Board vacancy and the Manipal-TATA Medical College faculty openings. It has always felt a little squeezed in between everything else this blog covers.
So in April 2025, job alerts got a home of their own: IndiaJobAlerts.com. This post is to tell regular readers of Search Darjeeling what it is, what it does differently, and where to follow it from here.
What IndiaJobAlerts.com is
IndiaJobAlerts.com is a dedicated job-alert site covering central and state government recruitment, along with private sector openings. Alongside the national coverage, it runs dedicated desks for West Bengal, Sikkim, North Bengal and the North East — the exact regional gap this blog's own Jobs label used to try to fill on its own. It's edited by me, along with Jharna Singh on the Sikkim and West Bengal state desk.
What's different from a regular job post
- Full vacancy and eligibility breakdowns, not just a summary of the notice
- Every post cross-checked against the original official notification, with a "last verified" date
- Small tools built for the application process itself — an age calculator, a photo/signature resizer, and a PDF compressor for uploads with size limits
You can read more about how it's run on the site's own About Us page.
What happens to job posts here
Older recruitment posts on Search Darjeeling are staying up as they are — they're still useful as an archive. But new job alerts will be published on IndiaJobAlerts.com going forward, not here.

As always: apply only through the official link given in a notification, and never pay anyone for a government job.
Bookmark IndiaJobAlerts.com if you're job hunting — that's where the alerts are now.
