Agniveer Vacancy Details


The recruitment is open for the following categories:

  1. Agniveer General Duty
  2. Agniveer Technical
  3. Agniveer Clerk/Store Keeper Technical
  4. Agniveer Tradesman (Class 10th Pass & 8th Pass)
  5. Agniveer Women General Duty in Corps of Military Police

Note: Candidates can apply for a maximum of TWO categories based on their eligibility.



Age Limit


  • Candidates must be between 17½ to 21 years (as of 01 October 2025).
  • For women only – The upper age limit is relaxable up to 30 years for widows of Defence personnel who died in harness.


Educational Qualification


  • Candidates must have passed from the Boards of School Education recognized by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
  • A list of recognized Boards is available on the official website.


Physical Measurement Standards


  • As per regional guidelines and relaxations provided in the official notification.


Physical Fitness Test (PFT)


For Male Candidates:


  • 1.6 Km Run
  • Beam (Pull Ups)
  • 9 feet ditch
  • ZigZag balance


For Female Candidates:


  • 1.6 Km Run
  • 10 feet long jump
  • 3 feet high jump

Note: Agniveer Technical and Agniveer Clerk/Store Keeper Technical candidates need to qualify in all tests.


Marital Status


  • Male: Unmarried only.
  • Female: Unmarried, widowed, divorced, or legally separated with no children, subject to fulfilling other eligibility criteria.


Recruitment Process


  1. Online Registration

  3. Recruitment Rally (PFT & PMT)

Date of Entrance Exam


  • Tentatively scheduled for June 2025 (final dates will be intimated separately).
  • The CEE will be conducted in 13 languages (English, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Punjabi, Odiya, Bengali, Urdu, Gujarati, Marathi, and Assamese).

Training Duration


  • Total training period: 31 weeks

Leave Policy


  • 30 days leave per year.
  • Sick leave based on medical advice from competent authorities.


Pay, Allowances, and Benefits


Seva Nidhi Package


  • Total contribution after four years: ₹5.02 Lakh (Candidate's Contribution) + ₹5.02 Lakh (Government Contribution) = ₹10.04 Lakh
  • Interest on Seva Nidhi is exempt from income tax.


Life Insurance Cover


  • Agniveers will be provided with a non-contributory life insurance cover of ₹48 lakh during their service.


Death Compensation


  • In addition to insurance cover of ₹48 lakh, a one-time ex-gratia of ₹44 lakh will be provided to the Next of Kin in case of death attributable to service.


Medical and CSD Facility


  • Agniveers will be entitled to medical treatment at military hospitals and CSD (Canteen Stores Department) facilities during their service.


Engagement Period


  • The engagement period is 4 years.
  • Up to 25% of the batch may be retained for regular cadre service.


Enrolment as Soldier (Regular Cadre)


  • Upon completion of 4 years, based on organizational requirements and performance, up to 25% of each specific batch will be enrolled as regular cadre in the Indian Army.
