Kainjalia : Short Details 

Kainjalia is a small village beautifully set in the picturesque valley, which lies at a distance of 8 Km from Bijanbari [34 km from Darjeeling, West Bengal].

Kainjalia falls under the jurisdiction of Darjeeling Pulbazar Development Block Bijanbari, Darjeeling. The place is a meeting place for different small villages like Samalbong, Thapagaon, Bararay, Kolbong, Lingten, Sirisey etc.

A haat(local weekly market) is organised on Thursday where the local people can buy essential commodities at affordable rates. 

We can find people of different castes here such as Gurung, lepchas,Sherpas, Biswakarmas[Scheduled Caste], Chettris and tribal peoples like Tamangs, Subbas and Limbus.

The place is agriculturally well developed and managed.Squash,Cardamom ,Oranges,brooms paddy are the major agricultural products of the area.

Education:

There are few Government and private schools that provides a quality education for the students of the area.

Occupation:

People of the area are fully dependent on agriculture and local business as it ranks in good position for the supply of fruits and vegetables. Siliguri and Darjeeling are the main destination market for supply of vegetables.

Transportation:

Transportation has been improved a lot as compared to previous year. Vehicles are available almost for all the time for Darjeeling ,Siliguri and other areas, most of the small places has been connected with roadways.
