About police-certified homestays in Darjeeling

Staying in a homestay is one of the best ways to experience the Darjeeling hills: you share meals with a local family, wake up to tea-garden views and often get directions that no booking site can give. This page collects every hotel, lodge, resort and homestay named on the public certified list of the Darjeeling Police into one fast, searchable directory.

Use the search box to look up a property by name, village or road, or filter by area and type. Each listing shows the address and phone number given in the official list, with one-tap call, WhatsApp and Google Maps buttons so you can speak to the owner directly. Before booking, read our tips on how to verify a homestay, and compare areas such as Darjeeling Sadar, Mirik, Kurseong and Sukhiapokhari to match your trip.

Important notice — how to read this directory

Independent guide. Search Darjeeling is an independent website. We are not the Darjeeling Police, any government body, a travel agent, an online travel platform or a booking service. We do not take bookings or payments, set prices, or act for any property, and we are not a party to any booking between you and a property.

“Police-certified” label. These entries come from the public list “Certified Hotels and Homestays” published by the Darjeeling Police and were last synced in November 2026. The label means only that the property appears on that list as of that date. It is not our certification, and it is not a guarantee of current registration or licence status, quality, safety, cleanliness, price, availability or legal compliance. Entries may be incomplete, outdated or wrong.

“Owner-listed” label. These properties were submitted by the owner or a representative through our form. We make only basic checks on format and apparent validity. They may not appear on the police list, and we do not verify ownership, licences, photos, descriptions or claims.

Protect yourself. Always call the owner and confirm the room, price, inclusions, check-in rules, cancellation and refund terms in writing before paying. Ask to see the property’s registration or certificate. Avoid paying the full amount in advance, pay only to an account or number that matches the property or owner name, and never share OTPs, card PINs or passwords. Be careful of unsolicited callers or messages claiming to represent a property. Carry valid photo ID for every guest.

Travel in the hills. Weather, landslides, road closures, and power, water and mobile network interruptions are common in the Darjeeling hills. Check conditions and official advisories before and during your trip.

No liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Search Darjeeling, its owners, editors and contributors accept no responsibility or liability for any loss, injury, damage, cost, fraud, dispute or inconvenience arising from use of this page, any listing, any phone number or link shown, or any booking or stay. Information is provided “as is” for general guidance only and is not legal, travel or professional advice. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Report a problem. Found wrong details or a suspicious listing? Use “Report a correction” on the card or email darjinfo@gmail.com and we will review it.
