In the wake of a recent surge in fake news, a disturbing claim circulated that the Teesta Stage 5 dam in Dikchu, managed by NHPC, succumbed to a fresh flash flood. But the Current Situation of Dikchu Dam is intact not much damaged by the Sikkim flash flood.

A harrowing discovery emerged 40 hours later when Lepcha's lifeless body was found in the control room atop the dam.
The Teesta Stage 5 dam, an 88.6m high concrete gravity marvel, houses three lengthy penstocks each spanning 321m and a 17.2 km long headrace tunnel (HRT) on the left bank.
The underground power house, nestled near Sirwani, boasts an installed capacity of 510 MW, driven by three 170 MW turbines.
The toll of the flash flood was evident as the control room atop the 88.6m dam suffered damage, evidenced by uprooted trees, debris, and remnants scattered at the highest point of the structure.
