This vibrant four-day festival at Chowrastha Mall Road Darjeeling promises a spectacular blend of sports, culture, music, and more, with a whopping ₹40+ Lakhs in total prize money up for  the participation to different activities in the festival

Highlights of the Darjeeling  Melo-Tea Fest  Festival

1. Darjeeling Hill Marathon – 11th Edition

Get ready to lace up your running shoes for the much-anticipated Darjeeling Hill Marathon, scheduled for December 22, 2024. Known for its challenging yet scenic routes, this event offers runners the chance to compete for a cash prize of ₹9.80 Lakhs. Whether you're a seasoned athlete or a first-time participant, this is a run you won't want to miss!

2. D-Hike: Explore Darjeeling’s Hiking Trails

Dubbed the Hiking Capital of India, Darjeeling offers over 14 hiking trails for adventurers to explore during the festival. Immerse yourself in the serene beauty of the hills, lush forests, and panoramic views, all while enjoying the refreshing mountain air.

3. D-Rock Competition

The Melo-Tea Fest is turning up the volume with the D-Rock Competition, featuring categories like Nepali Open Band, English Open Band, and Acoustic Solo Singer-Songwriter. With ₹40 Lakhs in cash prizes, this is your chance to witness or participate in an unforgettable musical showdown.

4. Adventure Sports

Thrill-seekers, rejoice! The festival includes paragliding, river rafting, and rock climbing, offering adrenaline-pumping experiences against the stunning backdrop of Darjeeling's rolling hills and misty valleys.

5. Arya Kite Festival

6. Short Film Festival

7. Special Band Spotlight: Kee Marcello

This year, the festival is thrilled to welcome Kee Marcello, the legendary Swedish guitarist and former member of the iconic rock bands Europe and Easy Action. Catch his electrifying live performance on Day 1 (December 19, 2024), alongside other prominent bands like Mantra Band, About Us Band, Kutumba Band, and Girish and the Chronicles (GATC).

Day 1: December 19, 2024

• Morning: Sound checks for bands (7:00 AM – 1:30 PM)
• Afternoon: Land Rover Rally and Fest March (3:00 PM – 4:00 PM)
• Evening Highlights:
  • Festival inauguration by the Honorable CM of West Bengal (virtual)
  • Cultural dance performances
  • Live performances by Mantra Band and Kee Marcello

• Morning: Sound checks for bands
• Afternoon: Cultural dance and local music school performances
• Evening Highlights:
• Nepali Band Competition (1:30 PM – 8:00 PM)
• Kutumba Band live performance

• Morning: Sound checks for bands
• Afternoon Highlights:
  • Cultural dances and a fashion show
  • English Band Competition (2:00 PM – 8:00 PM)
• Evening: Performance by About Us Band

Day 4: December 22, 2024

• Morning: The grand Darjeeling Hill Marathon
  • 21K and 10K flag-offs (7:00 AM and 7:30 AM)
• Afternoon: Performances by Yellow Hammer Band and Re-Incarnation Band

• Evening Highlights:
• English Band Competition (Top 5)
• Laser show (7:30 PM)
• Closing performance by GATC Band
• Results announcement
