Cantonment Board Lebong vacancy details: Application on the prescribed Proforma is invited from the eligible candidates for filling up the following post at the office of the Cantonment Board Lebong, Darjeeling:

Name of the Post: LDC (Lower Division Clerk)

No. of Vacancies: UR-01 (Unreserved)

Pay Band + Grade Pay: 5400-25200 + GP 2600

Age as on 16.09.2019: 18-25 Yrs

Minimum Educational Qualifications: Class-X Passed from any Govt. recognized Board/School with 50% & above.

Desirable: Computer Literacy and English typing with at least speed of 30 w.p.m.

The Cantonment Board, Lebong is an autonomous/ Statutory local body under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India and employees of the Board are governed by Cantt Fund Servants Rules, 1937 and are non-transferable.
Age Limit: Not less than 18 years and not more than 25 years as on 16-9-2019. For reserved posts, the upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC & ST, 3 years for OBC and other category candidates as per the existing Govt.rules

The Cantonment Board Lebong Darjeeling or any other Cantonment Board is constituted under section 13(3) of the cantonment board act through the procedure as furnished below.

Cantonments are constituted under section 12 of the cantonments board act, 2006.
Cantonments Boards are local autonomous bodies and are responsible for municipal administration of the cantonment area. GOC-IN-C, command acts as the local government for the governance of the Cantonment Boards under his jurisdiction.
Principal Director, Defence Estates is posted alongside GOC-IN-C in each army command, who apart from being the advisor to GOC-IN-C, is answerable to Director General, Defence Estates.

The officer commanding the station is the ex-officio president of the Cantonment Board Lebong Darjeeling or any other board-formed Board unless directed otherwise by the central government.
The president holds the office for a period commensurate with his tenure as station commander.

All the meetings of the Board are presided over by him and he is directly responsible for the fulfillment of the purpose of the Cantonment Act.

How to reach Cantonment Board Lebong Darjeeling

There are several ways to reach Cantonment Board Lebong Darjeeling

Air:

The closest airport to Cantonment Board Lebong Darjeeling is at Bagdogra (about 88 kilometers from Darjeeling and a three and half hour drive) and is connected by air with all the Metros in the country.

Rail :

New Jalpaiguri(NJP) is the nearest railhead for Cantonment Board Lebong Darjeeling and is also about 88 kilometers from Darjeeling. NJP is also connected with all the major cities of the country with most of the trains heading for the north-eastern states making a stop at this junction.

Bus :

Bus services can be availed from Siliguri to Cantonment Board Lebong Darjeeling, Mirik, and Kalimpong from Tenzing Norgay Bus Terminus, Siliguri. However, it is more convenient to travel in smaller vehicles which are available on seat sharing basis/hire, from near the Bus terminus, airport, and railway station.

The fare per passenger on a seat-sharing basis from Siliguri to Darjeeling is less than Rs 150.

For regular visit to Darjeeling, vehicles can be arranged from NJP/Siliguri/Bagdogra and insist on coming up to Darjeeling through the National Highway 55(also called the Tenzing Norgay Road).

There are numerous stalls dotting the highway for refreshment as well as have a break in Kurseong. The journey through NH-55 will take approximately 3-3.5 hours.
