St Michael's school Darjeeling

St Michael's school of Darjeeling is located below  St. Josephs School, North Point. St Michael's school at first began as a Primary school in 1925 by Fr Michael Mcdonough, for imparting education to  neighbourhood young men and young ladies independent of station, statement of faith and conviction. The school is dedicated after its author Fr Michael Mcdonough. It is a co-instructive school associated to West Bengal Board of Secondary Education.

Short History

St Michael's School was upgraded to a Junior High School on 23rd February 1979. In 1981, standard class IX was included with the consent from the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education Department.

ST MICHAEL'S SCHOOL DARJEELING

The Sisters of St Joseph of Cluny assumed control over the school from the Jesuits in 1982. The Higher Secondary Section was included 1999, in line with Mr Subhas Ghising, at that point , the Chairman of Darjeeling .

In 2001 the School began the National Institute of Open School. The primary group of around 15 understudies showed up for the examination in 2002. Sr Edel Rai, the present Principal with the assistance of 45 staff individuals takes care of 1,085 students.
