Narayan Gopal is a famous Nepali Musician who gave a dynamic shape to Nepali Musical World,  popularly known as Swar Samrat [Swar Samrat- Emperor of voice] and he was famous wherever the Nepali music was  admired. Narayan Gopal Guruacharaya was born on 4Th October 1939 in  Kilagal Tole,Kathmandu to father Asha  Gopal Guruacharya and mother Ram Devi Guruacharaya.He got married with Pemala Lama in 1971.Narayan Gopal was not only a good singer but was also an efficient Composer.




He was also popularly known as tragedy king.He usually used Sitar ,Harmonium,Flute, Guitar and Tabla for his orchestras .His songs and voice was so rich which still touches the heart of the people. Narayaan Gopal performed as a playback singer in different Nepali movies ,one of his song "Birta ko chino "(बिर्ता को चिनो ) is still loved and admired.

His first musical journey:
Narayn Gopal first performed at Tri Chandra college and he played tabla .Narayan Gopal was first inspired by his friend Prem Dhoj  Pradhan who was a music lover and his friend.and he  was the one who took him for the first vocal test at Radio Nepal.there he performed a song "panchi ko panakha ma dharti ko yo diyo" written by Dr Ram Man Trishit and composed by Prem dhoj Pradhan  and he passed the test at first attempt as he was born  for music. Narayan Gopal's first and evergreen composition  written by the contemporary poet Ratna Shumsher Thapa are:
1. Swarga ki rani (स्वर्गकी रानी),
2.Aakha ko bhakha aakhailee( आँखाको भाखा आँखैले),
3. Bho-Bho Malai Nacheka(भो भो मलाई नछेक),
4.Madhumas ma yo dil ( मधुमासमा यो दिल).
The two duet songs "bichod ko pida-( बिछोडको पीडा) and 'a kancha thattai mai yo baisa"(ए कान्छा ठट्टैमा यो बैंश जानलाग्यो) ) are still played and enjoyed by the music lover. His songs were mostly recorded at Calcutta.Along with him there were several other singers like Amber Gurung, Nati Kaji,Gopal Yonjan  who helped Nepali music to reach highest pedestrial.

Death:
 Narayan Gopal was a patient of diabetes .he died at an age of 51  in 5th December 1990
 at Bir Hospital (9 P.M.) Kathmandu,Nepal.

  3. many things are wrong in this article..at first he just went india to study music but he returned right away..he learned on his own! what baroda??huh?? ..ani his all songs are unforgettable !

    All of his songs were evergreen..if Listed .. will not fit on entire post ..there are thousand of songs and all were very popular..I have listed just few here..
