Notice for Engagement of Counsellor for Child Helpline Service in Kalimpong District, West Bengal

The Government of West Bengal, Office of the District Magistrate, Kalimpong, Social Welfare Section, invites applications for the contractual post of Counsellor in the Child Helpline Services for Kalimpong district. This recruitment is in pursuance of Memo No. 1282(20J) dated 07/08/2023 from the Directorate of Child Rights & Trafficking, Government of West Bengal.

• Position: Counsellor for Child Helpline Services
• Location: Kalimpong District
• Application Deadline: 19th July 2024, by 4:00 PM

General Instructions:

1. Selection Criteria:

   • Academic Qualification: 10 marks
   • Experience in the field of Women and Children/Social Welfare: 10 marks
   • Computer Proficiency: 10 marks
   • Viva Voce: 5 marks
   • The District Level Selection Committee will verify the applications.
   • The District Magistrate will be the appointing authority for the Counsellor position.

2. Application Process:

   • Applications must be submitted in the prescribed format, available on the Kalimpong District website.
   • Applications will be accepted from 1st July 2024 to 19th July 2024, by 4:00 PM.
   • Applications can be submitted either by post or by hand at the Office of the District Child Protection Unit, Office of the District Magistrate, Old Hotel Chimal, Ringkingpong Road, Kalimpong - 734301.
   • Applications received after 4:00 PM on 19th July 2024 will be rejected. Postal delays will not be considered. Applications will only be received during office hours on working days.

3. Required Documents:

   • Application in the requisite format
   • Two passport-size photographs
   • Age proof (PAN Card/Voter Card/School Admit Card/Birth Certificate/Aadhar Card)
   • Residential proof (Aadhar Card/Voter Card/Certificate from local Authority/Municipality/BDO, etc.)
   • Educational Qualification Certificates/Mark sheets
   • Experience Certificate (preferably in the field of Women & Child Development/Social Welfare)
   • Computer Certificate
   • Valid Mobile No. and Email ID
   • Two self-addressed envelopes with requisite postage stamps for sending admits via post

4. Additional Information:

   • Candidates must provide a correct email address and contact details for future correspondence and admit card distribution.
   • Candidates should have the ability to read, write, and speak in Nepali.
   • Shortlisted candidates will be called for Viva Voce, Computer test, and document verification.
   • Original documents must be brought for verification on the interview date.
   • The District Level Selection Committee will determine the dates for the Viva Voce and computer test.
   • The decision of the District Level Selection Committee regarding all matters related to the selection process will be final.
