Biography of Gopal Singh Nepali
Renowned poet who wrote in Nepali, Hindi and Urdu.
Titled "Wordsworth of Hindustan" by Dr. Rajendra Prasad, he was
presented a Gold medal for his english translation of Tagore's 'Urvashi.

in Bettiah, Bihar on II August 1911, Gopal Singh Nepali was a very successful writer who wrote award winning poems, novels and essays in Hindi, Nepali and Urdu.
He also edited many journals in all three languages at different times.
He was a celebrated poet and
people thronged to kavi sammelans' where he participated to listen to his recitations. Later he moved to Bombay and became a famous lyricist for Hindi Films.
He wrote songs for hit films like Gajre, Nai rahein, Naag Panchami, Khusboo among many others.
