The Public Service Commission, West Bengal will hold the Competitive Examination for Recruitment to the post of Sub-Inspector in the Subordinate Food & Supplies Service, Grade-III, under Food & Supplies Department, Govt. of West Bengal,2018 on the results of which recruitment will be made to the posts of Sub-Inspector in the Subordinate Food & Supplies Service , Grade-III, under Food & Supply Department, Govt. of West Bengal. The rules of the examination and other particulars are stated in the following paragraphs. A candidate should verify from the notified rules whether he/she is eligible for admission to the examination. The conditions prescribed cannot be relaxed.

IMPORTANT DATES

Commencement of submission of online application : The 22nd August, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. Closing date for submission of online application : The 18th September, 2018 (upto 12-00 midnight)
Closing date for submission of fees through online : The 18th September, 2018 (upto 12-00 midnight)
Closing date for submission of fees through offline : The 19th September, 2018.
* However, the Challan must be generated by the 18th September, 2018 positively.

WHERE TO APPLY
Applications can be submitted by online mode only through www.pscwbapplication.in .

The Recruitment will be made on the basis of written test (MCQ type) followed by Personality Test to be conducted by the Public Service Commission, West Bengal. The Public Service Commission, West Bengal shall have the discretion to fix qualifying marks in the written examination, the Personality Test and also in the aggregate. Candidates short listed on the basis of marks obtained in the Written Test (Objective Multiple Choice Question) will only be called for verification of testimonials and Personality Test. Final merit list will be prepared on the basis of the total marks obtained in the Written Examination and Personality Test. All appointments shall initially be made on a temporary basis.

The written test will be held at various centers in Kolkata and in certain other districts in West Bengal. Only scheduled tribe candidates of Darjeeling district and other candidates of the three hill sub-divisions, namely Darjeeling Sadar, Mirik and Kurseong will be allowed to appear at Darjeeling center. Similarly all candidates from the Kalimpong district will be allowed to appear at KALIMPONG center. The Personality Test will be held thereafter in the office of the Public Service Commission, West Bengal, in Kolkata.

A candidate must have the following qualifications which should be clearly stated in the application. The qualifications prescribed in the advertisement are as per the notified recruitment rules issued by the Govt. Candidates must fulfill the qualifications by the closing date of submission of application.

The benefits of reservation of vacancies are admissible to :
1. S.C./S.T./B.C.(Non- Creamy Layer) candidates of States shall be treated as general candidates.

2. Meritorious Sportsperson in the area of International Competition, National Competition, Inter-University Tournament and National Sports/Games for School Education in the following list of Sports:- (i) Athletics (including Track and Field events), (ii) Badminton, (iii) Basket Ball, (iv) Cricket, (v) Football, (vi) Hockey, (vii) Swimming, (viii) Table Tennis, (ix) Volley Ball, (x) Tennis, (xi) Weightlifting, (xii) Wrestling, (xiii) Boxing, (xiv) Cycling, (xv) Gymnastics, (xvi) Judo, (xvii) Rifle Shooting, (xviii) Kabaddi and (xix) Kho-Kho. - vide Govt. of West Bengal, Labour Department Notification No. 49-EMP/1M-25/98 dated 1st March, 2011. 3. Ex- Service men who have put in not less than six months’ continuous service in any rank (whether as a combatant or non- combatant) in the Armed Forces of the Union.

AGE RELAXATION

The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for S.C. & S.T. candidates and by 3 years for B.C. (Non- Creamy Layer) candidates. No relaxation is applicable to S.C./S.T./B.C. candidates of other States as they shall be treated as general unreserved candidates. No claim for being a member of S.C./S.T./B.C. (Non- Creamy Layer), Ex-Servicemen or a meritorious sportsperson will be entertained after the closing date for submission of the application. Upper age limit is also relaxable for Ex-Servicemen who have put is not less than six month’s continuous service in any rank (whether as a Combatant or as a Non- Combatant ) in the Armed Forces of the Union. For such Ex-Servicemen the upper age limit is relaxable by three years more than the period of his service in the Armed Forces. SC/ST/BC candidates not belonging to the State of West Bengal shall be treated as General candidates.


Application Fee : Rs.110/- (Rupees one hundred and ten) only + Service Charge 1% of Examination Fee subject to a minimum of Rs.5/- (Rupees Five) only for online payment through debit/credit card plus service charge /GST as applicable as Govt. Duty or Service Charge of Rs.5/- (Rupees Five) only for Net Banking or Service Charge of Rs.20/- (Rupees Twenty) only for payment through Bank Counter (off-line payment).


 HOW TO APPLY ONLINE FOR WEST BENGAL PSC EXAMS

Applicants are required to keep the following things ready before applying:

1. A Mobile Number to receive Enrolment No, SMS based notifications/communications related till the recruitment process is over.

2. Access to facilities of computer with internet connectivity.

3. A recent scanned passport sized colour photograph (for scanning and uploading in "jpeg" format only. File size of scanned photograph should not be more than 100KB).

 4. Your scanned signature using Blue/Black pen on white sheet (for scanning and uploading in "jpeg" format only. File size of scanned photograph should not be more than 100KB).

 5. If the applicant wants to submit the application fee online, access to an online payment facility/service such as i. Net Banking ii. Credit card iii. ATM-cum-Debit card

NOTE: If you do not have Net Banking facility/Credit Card or ATM-cum Debit Card, you can pay the fee in cash at any branch of United Bank of India(UBI) through the Challan downloaded from the Public Service Commission Recruitment Application Portal.

You will be able to download the duly filled up UBI challan from the Application Portal only when you select the "Cash Payment through UBI Bank" option while filling the application form online.

Steps to be followed for filling the online application:

 The entire process of filling online application form can be completed in below mentioned 9 steps. The steps are:

1. Enrolment through PSC Application Portal (http://pscwbapplication.in/) for online application process.

2. Signing in with the Enrolment ID and password.

3. Selection of the Examination Name and check eligibility.

4. If the applicant confirms the eligibility criteria and continues, the next web page appears. The applicant is required to click on “Application Details”. The application form will appear on the screen. The applicant is required to fill up the details in the application form.

 5. In the next step, the applicant is required to upload scanned image file of his/her Photograph and Signature one by one [as specified in Para 3 & 4 above].

 6. In the next step, the applicant is required to fill the Qualification & Experience details.

7. In the next step, the applicant is required to choose your Exam Centre preference (Applicable for few posts/Exam).
