"Darjeeling - Classified into Category B, which is more than 5% prevalence in any Higher Risk Group such as Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD ), Men having Sex with Men (MSM), Injecting drug Users (IDU), Prevention of Parent to Child Transmission of HIV (PPTCT )."
        2Nd Dec 2011:Today Darjeeling carried out an encouraging steps for the people who are suffering from AIDS.The  awareness program was organized by the FOSEP [Federation of Societies for Environmental

 Protection] and was initiated with a marathon from Jorebunglow to Chawrasta and other activities like musical program were held on the occasion.Among all the Districts of Darjeeling ,Kurseong is considered to be in high alert.There are several NGO's working all around the hills like Kurseong, Kalimpong ,Mirik in this sphere.

As per the Report there are total 4602 number of AIDS patient in the District of Darjeeling.
