Eligibility , Qualification and other details of the JRF Fellowship

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the JRF position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Qualification:

  • BE/B.Tech in the relevant discipline with a First Division from a recognized university.
  • A valid GATE score is mandatory for BE/B.Tech candidates.
  • ME/M.Tech candidates must have a First Division both at the graduate and postgraduate levels.

• Age Limit:

  • The upper age limit is 28 years as of the interview date.
  • Age relaxation is applicable: 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC (Non-creamy layer) candidates.

• Nationality: Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply.

Stipend and Tenure

• Stipend: Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of ₹37,000/- plus House Rent Allowance (HRA) as per rules.
• Tenure: The fellowship is initially offered for two years, with the possibility of extension for another two years (one year at a time) based on performance.

• Electronics & Communication Engineering: Written Test & Interview on 22 April 2025
• Electrical Engineering: Written Test & Interview on 23 April 2025

Candidates must report to VRDE, Vahannagar PO, Ahmednagar – 414 006 (Maharashtra) by 09:00 hrs on the respective dates. Latecomers will not be allowed to participate.
