In pursuance of order no. 383(23)/MEE/Sectt. dated 17.03.2023 read with G.O. No.366/MEE/Sectt. dt. 15.03.2023 and also Order No. 20(23)/SS/MEELS/2023 dt. 15.05.2023 from the Department of Mass Education Extension & Library Services, Govt. of W.B.,
online applications are invited through district website of Darjeeling at http://darjeeling.gov.in from the eligible candidates for fill up 08 (Eight) post of Librarian in Sponsored Public Library having the status of Rural Librar y in Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad Area under the Local Library Authority, SMPA, Darjeeling District.

Pay
LEVEL – 6, CELL -1 (in the Pay Matrix Rs. 22,700 – 58,500/-) as per WB ROPA2019 + Allowances as admissible

Essential Qualifications
(a) Must have passed Higher Secondary Examination or its Equivalent
(b) Possessing a Pass Certificate in Library & Information Science from Institutions as mentioned in Notification No. 365/MEE/Sectt dt 15-03- 23 of the Dept. of Mass Education Extension and Library Services from any of the following institute:
i. Training centre attached to the Bengal Library Association
ii. Training centre attached to the District Library,Ramkrishna Mission Boys’ Home, Rahara
iii. Training centre attached to the Janata College at Kalimpong and Banipur
iv. Any other training centre recognized by the Govt. of West Bengal for the purpose.
(c) Candidate with Bachelor’s Degree in Library and Information Science or equivalent are also eligible to apply.
(d) Basic Knowledge in computer application.
(e) Knowledge in Bengali
AGE
Not less than 18 years and not more than 40 years as on 01-01-2023. Upper agelimit shall be relaxable in respect of candidates in the reserved category as per the extant rules of the Government.
Mode of Selection:
Academic and Professional Results (20 marks), Written Examination (50 marks), Computer Test (10 marks), Interview (15 marks) and Experience (05 marks) as per the NotificationNo 366/MEE/Sectt dt 15-03-23 of the Dept. of Mass Education Extension and Library Services.
GENERAL INFORMATIONS TO CANDIDATES:
1. Applications are to be submitted in online mode only in the website http://darjeeling.gov.in Application submitted by any mode of communication other than the online will be summarily rejected without further information.
2. Last date of Submission of Application is 15.06.2023 at 12.00 midnight. Application received after the last date and time will not be entertained.
3. The qualifications prescribed in the advertisement are as per the notified recruitment rules issued by the Government in the Dept. of Mass Education Extension and Library Services. 4. All the academic and qualifications must have been obtained from Board / Council / Universities /Institutions, duly recognized by competent authority.
5. The benefits of upper age concession up to 5 years are admissible only to SC and ST candidates of West Bengal and up to 3 years to OBC (category ‘A’ & ‘B’) (non creamy layer) candidates of West Bengal. SC, STand OBC candidates of other States may apply for unreserved vacancies as general candidates. Such benefits are also available up to the age of 45 years for Persons with Disabilities.
6. A candidate belonging to be SC,ST,OBC (non creamy layer) or person with disabilities (40% and above) must have certificate in support of his/her claim from the competent authority of West Bengal obtained within the closing date of receipt of application and no claims in this regard will be entertained afterwards.
7. OBC (non creamy layer) candidates must submit their renewed / revalidated OBC (non creamy layer) certificate prior to interview and at the time of appointment.
8. All requisite certificates regarding educational qualifications, proof of age, other relevant experience certificates and other requisite documents must be uploaded along with application and furnished in original as and when required by the Appointing Authority.
9. Applications not duly filled in or found incomplete or detective, in any respect, will be liable to rejection.
10. Any omission/suppression of information in the online application shall lead to rejection of the application or candidature, at any stage of recruitment process. The conditions so prescribed shall not be relaxed at any point of time.
11. If at any stage even after issue of a letter of recommendation for appointment a candidate is found ineligible in terms of the advertisement, his/her candidature will be cancelled without further reference to him /her.
12. Where experience of a number of years is prescribed this would mean only experience gained as full time paid employee in a library within the closing date of receipt of applications. [Certificate(s) from the Head(s) of the Organization(s) / Department (s) or Competent Authority for the entire experience claimed, clearly mentioning the duration of employment (date, month and year) and field of experience indicating basic pay and consolidated pay must be obtained. The certificate(s) should also mention the nature of duties performed / experience obtained in the post(s) with duration(s)]
13. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
14. Self-attested copies documents to be uploaded in web portal.
15. No TA/DA will be paid appearing in any Written Test/Computer Test/Interview of the post. 16. Any Corrigendum/Addendum or any other information related to the recruitment process shall be uploaded on http://darjeeling.gov.in website only. Candidates are requested to visit the website regularly.
