PAY BAND:
Associate Professor -
Rs. 37,400/- to Rs. 67,000/- along with an Academic Grade Pay of Rs.10,000/- and other allowances as admissible.
Associate Professor
Rs. 37,400/- to Rs. 67,000/- along with an Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 9,000/- and other allowances as admissible.
Assistant Professor
Rs. 15,600/- to Rs. 39,100/- along with an Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 6000/- and other allowances as admissible.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. For the post of Professors:
a. Minimum eligibility criteria: An eminent scholar with consistently good academic records and with a Ph.D. degree in the concerned /allied / relevant discipline with a number of high quality research publications in reputed journals and/or publication of books. At least 10 (ten) years' experience in University / College and/or experience in research in university / reputed research institutions / industries out of which at least 5 (five) years should be of P.G. teaching, Research guidance of doctoral students.
Additional Experiences:
Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses and use of modern technology in teaching-learning process. An outstanding professional with established reputation in the relevant field and who has made significant contribution to the knowledge in the concerned / allied / relevant discipline may also be considered for appointment as Professor
For the post of Associate Professors:
Minimum eligibility criteria:
Good academic record with a Ph.D. degree in the concerned /allied / relevant disciplines. A Master's degree in concerned / allied / relevant disciplines with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scales wherever grading system is followed). At least second class "Three Years" Bachelor's degree with Honours / Major in the relevant / allied subject. A minimum of 8 (eight) years of experience of teaching and/or research in an academic / research position equivalent to that of an Assistant Professor in a University / College or reputed research institution / industry with a number of good quality publications in reputed journals and/or publication of books.
Additional experiences:
Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses and use of modern technology in teaching-learning process. Guidance of Ph.D. students / research projects.
For the post of Assistant Professors:
(iii) Minimum eligibility criteria:
a. Good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scales wherever grading system is followed) at the Master's degree in the relevant disciplines. b. At least second class "Three Years" Bachelor's degree with Honours / Major in the relevant / allied subject. The candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC (CSIR) or similar test accredited by the UGC like SET/SLET. However, the candidates who are or have been awarded a Ph.D. degree in accordance with the UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for award of Ph.D. degree) Regulations 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the Minimum Eligibility Condition of NET/SLET/SET. NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS TO THE APPLICANTS:
Appointments will be made on probation for one year which may be waived or extended in exceptional cases and will be guided by the rules as framed and / or amended from time to time. During or at the end of the period of probation, the services of the concerned teacher may be terminated with one month notice or with one month's salary in lieu thereof, without assigning any reasons thereof. On satisfactory completion of the probationary period the concerned incumbent will be considered for confirmation of service. Stipulation in respect of Experience and Age may be relaxed by the authority in case of exceptionally brilliant candidates on recommendation of relevant selection committee. The selection of Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor Need not to necessarily be confined only to those who formally apply. Candidate
zs already in employment must apply through proper channel.
* The originals will be required for necessary verification at the time of interview. Incomplete applications will be rejected.
* No TA/DA shall be paid to the candidates for attending the interview.
* The University shall verify the antecedents or documents submitted by a candidate at
any time at the time of appointment or during the tenure of the service. In case, it is detected that the documents submitted by the candidates are fake or the candidate has a clandestine antecedents/background and has suppressed the said information, then his services shall be terminated. The University reserves the right not to fill up the post advertised if the circumstances so warrant.
In case of any inadvertent mistake in the process of selection which may be detected at any stage even after the issue of appointment letter, the University reserves the right to modify/ withdraw/ cancel any communication made to the candidates. In case of any dispute/ambiguity that may occur in the process of selection, the decision of the competent authority shall be final. If any candidate is recommended for appointment in relaxation of any of the prescribed conditions relating to age, experience etc, it shall be so stated and recorded. The prescribed qualifications and experience will be minimum and the mere fact that a candidate possessing the same will not entitle him for being called for interview. The University will have the right to restrict the candidates to be called for interview to a reasonable number on the basis of qualifications and experience higher than the minimum prescribed or by any other condition that may deem fit.
* In cases of any disputes any suites or legal proceedings against the University, the jurisdiction shall be restricted to the Calcutta High Court.
Online Application fees: Rs.1000/- for the post of Professor (Rs.750/- for SC/ST/OBCA/OBC- B candidates), Rs. 800/- for the post of Associate Professor (Rs.600/- for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B candidates), and Rs. 600/- for the post of Assistant Professor (Rs.450/- for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B candidates).
